DMCA & Copyright Notice.
Is It Done Yet? (“the Site”) respects the intellectual property rights of game developers, publishers, and other content creators. This page explains how we use third-party content and how rights holders can request removal of material.
01 How we use game-related content
The Site is an independent editorial resource that catalogs video games and assesses their development completeness. In service of this editorial purpose, the Site displays:
- Game titles and metadata (developer, publisher, release date, genre) sourced from publicly available store listings.
- Game imagery (header images, screenshots) linked directly from publisher-authorized content delivery networks. We do not host copies of these images on our own servers.
- Excerpts and summaries of developer communications (blog posts, patch notes, announcements) used as evidence supporting status assessments.
We believe this use is protected under fair use principles (17 U.S.C. § 107) as transformative, editorial commentary on publicly available information. However, we take rights holder concerns seriously and will act promptly on valid requests.
02 Content reports vs. DMCA notices
The Site offers a general content reporting feature for users to flag potentially illegal or harmful material. This reporting feature is not a formal DMCA takedown process and does not satisfy the legal requirements for a valid DMCA notice. If you are a copyright holder seeking removal of infringing material, please follow the formal process described below.
03 Submitting a DMCA takedown request
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that material on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to:
Your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material on the Site that you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (a URL is preferred).
- Your contact information — name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
04 What happens next
Upon receiving a valid takedown request, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt of your notice promptly.
- Review the request and, if valid, remove or disable access to the identified material in a reasonable timeframe.
- Notify you when the material has been removed or if we need additional information to process your request.
05 Counter-notification
If material you posted or control was removed and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a counter-notification to the email address above. Your counter-notification must include:
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which the Site’s operator may be found).
- Your physical or electronic signature.
06 Good faith
We ask that rights holders contact us before filing formal legal actions. In many cases, concerns can be resolved quickly and informally. We are a small independent project, not a commercial entity seeking to profit from others’ intellectual property.
