Evaluation

33 Days till Extraction entered Steam Early Access on September 17, 2026, having previously been available as a free demo since May 7, 2026. The developer — a small indie studio called Three Whales Studio — has been actively patching the game since launch, pushing updates on September 22, 23, 24, and 30, 2026. These updates include balance adjustments, new items (such as the Anti-Drone Discharger added September 22), difficulty tuning, co-op fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. The game is explicitly in Early Access and is unfinished by the developer's own description. No 1.0 release date or roadmap has been published, and no content completion has been announced. The sustained post-launch update cadence confirms the developer is actively engaged.
Evidence
Update 0.0.0.774 added a new craftable item (Anti-Drone Discharger), rebalanced food systems, and fixed crashes — substantive content and feature work shortly after launch.

About this game

33 Days till Extraction is a top-down sci-fi action RPG shooter with roguelike progression, set on a distant planet shattered by orbital bombardment. You are a Space Desant death-chaplain stranded on a hostile world and hunted by spec-ops elites and lowlife bounty hunters alike. Extraction is 33 days away.

Daylight means death. Patrols sweep the surface relentlessly, forcing you to hunker down in basements and ruins. Only at night can you emerge — to raid, scavenge, fight… and raise the dead. Necromancy may not be your primary calling, but out here, you take every advantage you can get.

SHOOTER MEETS ROGUELIKE

Each run sends you into procedurally generated zones filled with unpredictable enemies, events, and rewards. Learn the planet’s rules, adapt your build, and push further with every attempt.

Death is not the end. Through forbidden rites and battlefield improvisation, fallen fighters can be raised again — letting you experiment, recover, and evolve instead of starting from zero.

ACTION RPG WITH TECH-MAGIC

Harness brutal firepower and unholy abilities alike:

– Plasma, laser, ballistic, and experimental weapons

– Necromancy, vampirism, and energy manipulation

– Tech-magic hybrids that blur the line between science and sorcery

Customize your loadout with gear, perks, and powers — forging deadly synergies between weapons and the undead forces at your command.

BUILD YOUR BASE

Between runs, return to your base to construct and upgrade facilities, recruit new fighters with unique traits, prepare loadouts for different playstyles and unlock long-term progression and new possibilities.

Your base is your last refuge — and your staging ground for the nights ahead.

A BROKEN PLANET TO EXPLORE

Explore the remains of a shattered world: abandoned installations, military strongholds, and ruined urban zones — all procedurally generated for high replayability and constant surprise.
