Evaluation
868-HACK launched on January 26, 2015 and received one major paid expansion, PLAN.B, on July 11, 2017, which added 9 new progs, 8 new bonus powerups, and a new game mode. That expansion is the only DLC listed and it has fully released. In December 2024, developer Michael Brough pushed a couple of small patches — a minor balance update on December 11 and a fix for a crash bug on December 13 — to address issues introduced during what appears to have been an internal build update. In that same December 13 post, Brough mentioned he is working on a sequel called 868-BACK, which has an active crowdfunding campaign. This confirms that new creative energy is going toward a new game rather than additional content for 868-HACK itself. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for this title, and no developer statement suggesting further updates beyond maintenance. The game is complete.
Evidence
Developer Michael Brough posted a crash fix and noted he is working on a sequel, 868-BACK, with a crowdfunding campaign — implying future creative focus is on the new game, not additional 868-HACK content.
