Evaluation
9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far launched out of Early Access on August 26, 2024, bringing with it the full second campaign and numerous improvements. At that time, Petroglyph stated they would continue addressing bugs and balance issues after launch but were notably vague about future content, saying only "beyond that we cannot say but as always the better game sells the more we can do."
The game received a free DLC called Going Rogue! on September 15, 2025 — a roguelite mode described as "an internal gameplay experiment by some rogue Petroglyph team members" that was "too fun to keep to ourselves." This shipped as the only paid/listed DLC expansion (alongside a soundtrack pack). Following its release, the team posted a balance and bug-fix patch on September 24, 2025, and a small achievement hotfix on December 1, 2025.
Both listed DLC items are now released, and there are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. The Going Rogue! description frames the mode as a bonus surprise rather than part of an ongoing content plan. There has been no developer communication since December 1, 2025 — approximately six months before today's date — and no announcements of further expansions, roadmaps, or planned content. The developer has not stated the game is definitively complete, but neither have they signaled anything further is in development. Given the framing of Going Rogue! as an unexpected extra, the absence of any new announcements, and the silence since December 2025, the game appears to have reached its natural content endpoint with the Going Rogue! DLC release on September 15, 2025.
Evidence
Going Rogue! free DLC released, adding a roguelite mode. Described as an internal experiment that was too fun not to share — framed as a bonus rather than a planned content roadmap item.
Going Rogue! DLC released on September 15, 2025. All listed DLC items are now released with no unreleased entries remaining.
