Evaluation
99 Waves launched on February 2, 2024. In the days immediately following launch, the developers (a two-person team at Cosnow Company) acknowledged the game had significant issues and committed to an intensive week of daily patches culminating in a major Version 2.0 overhaul on February 19, 2024. That overhaul was delivered as promised and marked a significant turning point for the game.
After the 2.0 release, the developers noted they would be taking a break, with only critical bug fixes planned. True to that statement, subsequent updates were relatively modest: V2.1 (May 31, 2024) added a difficulty adjustment and an achievement, V2.2 (June 27, 2024) added two new skills, and V2.3 (July 30, 2024) made balance and quality-of-life adjustments. The final recorded update was Patch V2.31 on August 15, 2024, which addressed a progression-blocking bug and made difficulty tweaks.
The February 19, 2024 post stated the developers were taking a break and that "The Cosnow Company is just getting started" — suggesting future plans — but no specific content was announced, no roadmap was published, and no further developer communication has appeared after August 15, 2024. That silence now extends to approximately 22 months (August 2024 to June 2026). There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced expansions, and no sustained post-launch content cadence that would suggest more major updates are forthcoming. The game appears to have launched as a complete product that received a period of active post-launch polish, and that development activity has since concluded.
Evidence
Patch V2.31 fixed a progression-blocking bug and adjusted difficulty. This is the last recorded developer communication as of June 2026.
Version 2.0 released — developer states they are taking a break, with only critical fixes planned going forward. Notes 'The Cosnow Company is just getting started' but makes no specific content commitments.
