Evaluation
A Liminal Place Remastered is a walking simulator/liminal space exploration game made by a solo teenage developer. On February 22, 2025, the developer explicitly stated: "A Liminal Place R is now dead, like, there is nothing more to update in it." This was a clear declaration that the game had reached the end of its development life.
Since then, developer communications have focused entirely on a separate spiritual successor called "Limine," which is currently in alpha on Itch.io and not expected to arrive on Steam until 2027–2028. The developer's post on October 3, 2025 described Limine as the "direct sequel" and "final chapter of A Liminal Place," further confirming that ALP Remastered itself is finished.
Most recently, on July 10, 2026, the developer posted that personal and financial hardships (including having to sell their GPU) have paused even the Limine successor project — but this has no bearing on ALP Remastered, which had already been declared complete well before this point.
The only DLC listed ([DLC-1]) is a public testing area that released on August 14, 2024, and is already available. There is no unshipped content, no announced future updates, and the developer has made no indication of returning to this game. A Liminal Place Remastered shipped as a complete product, with its end-of-life formally declared on February 22, 2025.
