A Simple Job launched as a free game on June 5, 2025, and received its one and only DLC — Airlines — on September 26, 2025, also released for free. On June 29, 2026, DreamStudios published an official statement announcing the permanent end of A Simple Job's development, following a breakdown in the collaboration between DreamStudios and developer Saturn91. Both parties mutually agreed to permanently close development, with no further updates, content, or expansions ever planned. A final DLC featuring two fan-requested endings and an early-concept sequel (A Simple Job 2) were both cancelled as a result. On July 10, 2026, DreamStudios reversed course on A Simple Job 2 specifically — confirming that a sequel is now officially greenlit and in development. However, that same post explicitly reaffirms that the original A Simple Job "is now complete and will no longer receive any updates." The sequel is an entirely separate product. The original game's development status remains closed. The Airlines DLC, released September 26, 2025, represents the final content ever shipped for this game.
