ABYSS OF THE SACRIFICE launched on Steam on December 16, 2020 as a complete adventure/escape game with a self-contained story and multiple endings. The only DLC ever released was a soundtrack pack, which shipped on the same day as the game itself. A handful of bug fix patches were issued in the months following launch (through March 2021) to address gameplay issues, with one additional minor bug fix as recently as January 29, 2026 — indicating the developer still performs occasional maintenance. No new story content, expansions, or gameplay DLC have ever been announced or released for this title. The more recent news posts from this game's Steam page (February and March 2025) are announcements for entirely separate games from the same publisher (The Escape Room Chronicles series), not content additions for ABYSS OF THE SACRIFICE. The game launched as a finished, self-contained product and has remained so.

The stages develop along with each character. The same stage can have different puzzles and endings depending on the path you've chosen--changes that may mean the difference between life and death for the young girls!

Deep underground lies an immense living facility: Foundation.
When was it built, and why? Who, or what, brought its residents there? The truth has faded with the years, and its history has sunk into the ocean of time. No one within knows of the surface. To the people of Foundation, the underground facility is their entire world.
Then, calamity strikes, changing the fate of five young girls.
Their world is suddenly deserted. Quakes assail the underground halls, walls and ceilings collapse, and food and water begins to run out. Five girls, the final survivors, must find a way to pull through these dire conditions.
Foundation is on the verge of collapse, and the girls face their longest and final trial...
