ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN launched on January 31, 2019 and received a substantial run of post-launch content over several years. The original Season Pass delivered three story missions and aircraft packs through late 2019. The developer followed with anniversary aircraft series in 2020 and 2021, culminating in the 25th Anniversary Cutting-Edge Aircraft Series on November 17, 2021. In May 2022, a Top Gun: Maverick collaboration Aircraft Set launched. The final update was a free 3rd Anniversary update on August 3, 2022, adding 14 skins and 17 emblems.
All 21 DLC items listed on the store are released, and no further content for ACE COMBAT 7 has been announced or shipped since August 3, 2022. The developer's communications since then have focused entirely on ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE — announced in December 2025, given a release date of October 2, 2026 in June 2026, and the subject of multiple promotional posts through September 2026. The series' 30th Anniversary post on June 30, 2025 explicitly signaled the franchise moving forward to "new and unforgettable experiences," reinforcing that ACE COMBAT 7's content cycle is complete and the studio's attention has fully shifted to its successor.
