Adverse Effects is a visual novel that launched on November 11, 2023. The game shipped with 590+ renders, 55+ animations, and 30,000+ words of script as a self-contained story experience. A small patch was released on November 12, 2023 adding a scene that was accidentally left out of the initial build. On January 10, 2024, the developer added German and Italian translations and explicitly stated that more translations — including French, Chinese, Turkish, and Russian — would be coming in the future. That January 10, 2024 post is the last known communication from the developer. No further updates, patches, or announcements have appeared since then. The promised additional translations have not been confirmed as shipped, and the extended silence makes it uncertain whether that work is ongoing.

About this game
Working two jobs and not getting much sleep, Judith decides to visit her doctor, who prescribes her some experimental sleeping pills. Shortly after taking her first pill, she starts to feel some Adverse Effects, which leave her yearning for you. Confused by her new feelings, she decides to stop taking the new drug, but the effects have already taken hold, and she can no longer fight her new urges. You play the recipient of these feelings; what will you do when her normal affections turn into something more?
