Aestik launched on August 26, 2024 as a hand-drawn metroidvania developed by the two-person studio Hooded Traveler Games. Shortly after launch, the developers shipped several quality-of-life patches addressing community requests (Patches 1.2 and 1.3 in late August 2024). On December 6, 2024, they released "Curse of the Oddgod," a free major content expansion, as their first and only post-launch DLC drop. The only paid DLC on the store is the game's soundtrack, which released on September 10, 2024 — all DLC is fully released and no unreleased items appear on the store listing. On August 26, 2025 — the game's one-year anniversary — the developers posted a celebratory performance update and, notably, used the occasion to direct players toward their new upcoming game, "Roulette Dungeon." This is a meaningful signal: rather than teasing future Aestik content, the developers promoted their next project. There have been no announcements, roadmaps, or hints of additional Aestik content since December 2024, and the most recent communication (August 2025) pointed away from the game.
