Against Great Darkness launched into Steam Early Access on April 10, 2024. In the days and weeks following launch, the developer (Hitreg Studios) was quite active — posting multiple patches per week with bug fixes, new bosses, and gameplay improvements. The April 10 launch post explicitly promised a roadmap "coming soon," and the April 19, 2024 patch notes (the most recent communication on record) mentioned upcoming plans including a Chronos Pagan character and additional bug fixes.
However, the developer has not posted any public updates since April 19, 2024 — a period of more than two years leading up to June 2026. The promised roadmap never appeared, and the planned content mentioned in that last patch has not been confirmed as shipped or cancelled. This extended silence, following an initially active update period, makes it impossible to determine whether development is continuing, paused, or has quietly stopped. The game remains available for purchase in Early Access, but the lack of any developer communication since April 2024 raises genuine questions about its ongoing development.

Against Great Darkness is the brick-breaker, bullet hell, roguelite. Choose your pagan deity and break free from the clutches of Lucifer. Juggle your disks to defeat your enemies as you progress through the circles of hell and confront relentless demonic bosses.
In each run, acquire powerful relics that will assist you in your escape. Juggle the disks to unleash the power they hold and discover the synergies that will truly set you free.
Choose between acquiring motes of light, purchasing items in the shop, receiving a much-needed heal, or risking it all with unique mystery events that can either reward or hinder your ascent.
You may have gambled on a risky juggle that put you in harm's way and ended your run. Don't fret; the Radiant Shards you collect during your attempts can be used to empower your next run.
