Age of Wonders III

Age of Wonders III launched on March 31, 2014. Triumph Studios delivered two paid expansions post-launch: the Golden Realms Expansion on September 18, 2014, and the larger Eternal Lords Expansion on April 14, 2015 — the latter explicitly described as marking "one year of continuous development since its release." Following Eternal Lords, the studio continued with free feature and maintenance patches (v1.6 in June 2015, v1.7 in September 2015, v1.705 in November 2016, and v1.8 in May 2017), but no further paid content was ever announced or released. By May 2017, the v1.8 patch notes acknowledged that the team was "very busy with our next big strategy game," signaling that development focus had shifted away from Age of Wonders III. That next game was formally announced in May 2018 as Age of Wonders: Planetfall, which released in August 2019. The July 2019 giveaway of Age of Wonders III was framed explicitly as a promotional tool to drive awareness for Planetfall — a clear sign the studio viewed the game as a complete, legacy title. All three DLC entries in the store are released. The store description contains no references to upcoming content, seasonal updates, or additional expansions. Triumph Studios has made no post-launch content announcements for Age of Wonders III since Eternal Lords in April 2015, and the studio's public communications since 2017 have been entirely focused on Planetfall. The game launched as a finished product with two expansions, both of which have shipped.
