Alien Removal Division is a free-to-play, single-player first-person shooter developed by students at Breda University of Applied Sciences. The game launched out of Early Access on June 17, 2022 (version 1.0). Prior to that, it received two major content updates during its early access period: "The Origins Update" on June 3, 2022, which added story cinematics and dialogue, and the full 1.0 release patch on June 17, 2022. A week after launch, on June 24, 2022, the developers shipped a final feature patch that added a proper boss encounter (The Crusher), improved movement, accessibility options, and a speedrunning HUD — addressing community feedback gathered right after launch. The game was built by university students as a project, and the short description explicitly identifies it as a student-made free game. All developer communication took place in June 2022, immediately surrounding the launch window.
