Alien Scumbags launched in June 2020 and received a steady stream of content updates over the following 18 months. On December 21, 2021, the developer (James at Monster Finger Games) explicitly declared the game complete with update V15.2, writing "Alien Scumbags is now complete. V15.2 marks the final content update." He followed up on January 2, 2022 with a small polish patch (V15.3.2) and noted he was moving on to his next game, Tanks A Lot. Despite the game being declared finished, he added one surprise bonus level in a December 29, 2021 update (V15.3), described as a "fun idea" rather than a commitment to further development. The last developer communication of any kind was a bug fix on July 1, 2023 (V15.7.1) that corrected an achievement issue. No further content has been announced, no unreleased DLC exists, and the developer has clearly moved on to other projects. The game is complete.
