Ambre - a heartbreaking kinetic novel

Ambre is a free-to-play kinetic novel that launched on June 9, 2017. The developer released two DLC items shortly after launch: the original soundtrack on July 7, 2017, and an illustrated bonus booklet on August 11, 2017. Both were announced in the July 7, 2017 update post and subsequently delivered. All listed DLC has been released, and the store description markets the game as "a classic story available for free now with new enhanced graphics" — language that frames the product as a finished, complete offering. Since August 2017, there have been no further updates, patches, or content additions to Ambre itself. Developer communications after that point — including a March 2018 announcement of a new title (Garden of Oblivion) and an October 2023 post announcing the commercial release of Chronotopia: Second Skin — are about separate projects, not continued development of Ambre. The studio has clearly moved on to other games, and no future content for Ambre has ever been announced or suggested. The game launched as a complete short-form narrative experience and received its only planned post-launch additions (the soundtrack and booklet) within the first two months of release.
