ANIMALITY entered Steam Early Access on February 2, 2017. At launch, the developer expressed enthusiasm and stated that "there is a lot planned for ANIMALITY." The game received a small number of updates over its first few years: an achievements patch on February 6, 2017, and a mini-games feature update on May 10, 2020, which also coincided with a batch of cosmetic DLC releases (colour pigments, cursor packs, and a Halloween costume). All 20 DLC items listed on the store have been released, with the most recent dating to October 29, 2020. The last official communication from the developer was the May 10, 2020 mini-games update — more than six years ago. There has been no news post, patch, roadmap, or statement about a planned 1.0 release or future content since then. The game remains tagged as Early Access on Steam with no indication from the developer about whether development is continuing, winding down, or has been quietly abandoned. Given the extended silence following what appears to have been a burst of activity in mid-2020, the status of ongoing development is uncertain.
