ANONYMOUS || AGONY is an episodic RPG that launched on June 12, 2019, and is explicitly designed to receive additional story chapters over time. The store description states directly that "More chapters will be added in the future," and only the first two story files (File #1 for Haze and File #2 for Dr. Samson) appear to have been released. A November 2021 post confirmed that Files #3–#13 were planned as a single future DLC release. Throughout 2021 and into early 2022, the developer was actively working on the script and sharing progress publicly via Google Docs. The January and April 2022 posts show the story's final episodes were still being written, with the developer completing File #9/#10's script during that period. On November 3, 2022, the developer posted an explanation for a long period of silence: the studio had suffered a serious cyber attack that caused major data loss, including permanent loss of their Google and YouTube accounts. They stated that development was still ongoing and that a new script document and YouTube channel would be created. That post is the last communication the developer has made on any official channel. As of June 26, 2026 — more than three and a half years since that final post — there has been no follow-up update, patch, announcement, or sign of life from the developer. The promised new script document and YouTube channel never materialized publicly on Steam. The game remains in an incomplete state, with the majority of its planned episodes unreleased. Given the extended silence following a disclosed crisis, it is unclear whether development is continuing.
