Ant Keeping Simulator

Ant Keeping Simulator launched on July 29, 2024 and has had an eventful development history. The developer shipped a major free update on November 10, 2024, followed by the first paid DLC — the Digging DLC — on November 22, 2024. On May 6, 2025, the developer posted a "Goodbye Gamedev" announcement stating there would be no future updates and that they were stepping away from game development entirely. However, this was not the end of the story. On August 19, 2025, the developer posted "We're Back!" confirming they had returned to active development. Two days later, on August 21, 2025, they shipped a major update and announced a second DLC — Species Pack 1 — which released on September 1, 2025. Since returning, the developer has continued to engage with the game: a feature patch shipped on August 23, 2025, another feature update arrived on March 25, 2026, and a bug fix patch was posted on April 24, 2026 — the most recent communication. Both paid DLC packs are now released, and no new content has been formally announced, but the developer has shown a consistent pattern of responding to community feedback and shipping updates well into 2026. The retirement announcement of May 2025 was explicitly reversed by the developer's own subsequent posts and actions.
