绝望监牢 / 絶望プリズン launched on Steam on February 13, 2020 as a free-to-play adventure/RPG. At launch, the PC version was behind the mobile version, containing only chapters 1–6. On February 27, 2020, the developer pushed an update bringing the PC version up to Chapter 8 — matching the mobile version at that time — and explicitly stated that Chapter 9 was still in production, with a promise to release it on PC once ready. That February 27, 2020 post is the last official communication from STUDIO WASABI on Steam. As of June 25, 2026, Chapter 9 has never been announced as shipped, and the developer has made no further posts — no updates, no status reports, and no explanation for the silence. The promised chapter has been outstanding for over six years with no resolution communicated publicly. It is not possible to confirm whether development of Chapter 9 is continuing or has been abandoned.
