镇邪 launched on November 4, 2022 and received several post-launch patches adding new content — including a new side quest, ghost realm, and other gameplay features in the January 20, 2023 update. However, on June 27, 2023, the developer published a direct statement clarifying the game's status: 镇邪 is a complete game, not an Early Access title. The developer explained that the original design was story-driven and fully playable, and that the underlying code architecture makes it impractical to add significant new content. They stated that while they would continue fixing bugs, major additions are not feasible on the existing codebase. Instead, they announced plans to build a new technical foundation for a sequel project. That sequel, 镇邪Ⅱ, opened for public beta testing on June 20, 2025, as announced in a news post celebrating the milestone and offering a discount on the original game. This confirms the developer's focus has fully shifted to the second title. No new content for the original 镇邪 has been announced or shipped since early 2023, and no unreleased DLC exists on the store. The game is a self-contained, complete single-player experience.
