Evaluation

东北之夏 (DongBeiZhiXia) is a free visual novel that launched on January 9, 2023. The developer explicitly announced on May 19, 2023 that the game's final update had been published. In that post, the developer stated this was the studio's first and last work, and that the team would be disbanding. The May 19, 2023 update included the DLC story content, bug fixes, and final optimizations — completing everything that had been promised since launch. A follow-up post on June 27, 2023 confirmed this closure: the developer released all art assets to the public, published a full accounting of the crowdfunding budget, and announced the mobile version on TapTap. The developer described this as their last announcement on the platform. No further content has been announced or hinted at since June 2023. The game launched with a promised DLC update (announced January 9, 2023), which was delivered via the May 16, 2023 major update and finalized on May 19, 2023. All commitments have been fulfilled, and the studio has formally concluded its work on this title.
