冬日树下的回忆 (Memories Under the Winter Tree) is a free original visual novel that launched on June 1, 2023. The developer has been actively improving the game with substantial updates since launch. The major milestone was the version 1.5 remake released on December 25, 2024, which included a full engine overhaul, UI renovation, full text optimization, CG resets, new route endings, 5 new CGs, and expanded platform support (macOS and Linux). This was followed by version 1.6 on July 11, 2025, which restored a previously cut story route with full voice acting, added voice acting to all route endings, introduced new SD CGs, and added a bonus gallery item (SPECIAL#1). Notably, the version 1.6 post includes a closing statement from the creator: "这份礼物就像是我亲手为喜欢我的人们精心制作的点心。我会以新的身份继续旅途。" — which translates roughly to "This gift is like a treat I carefully made for those who love me. I will continue my journey under a new identity." This reads as a farewell message signaling that the creator considers this version a completed gift to players and intends to move on to new projects. No further content has been announced since version 1.6.1 on August 11, 2025, and there are no unreleased DLC listings or outstanding commitments. The game is considered content-complete as of the final patch.
