Appointment with FEAR (Standalone) was released on August 26, 2014 as a standalone interactive graphic novel adaptation of Steve Jackson's classic gamebook. Shortly after launch, on September 3, 2014, the developer shipped a feature patch addressing player-requested improvements such as resolution options and windowed mode, along with several bug fixes — standard post-launch maintenance for a finished product. The developer's subsequent news posts from this game's store page are almost entirely cross-promotions for Tin Man Games' other products, particularly the Fighting Fantasy Classics library (a separate app released in 2018).
