Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation launched on November 10, 2016 and has received consistent updates over the years. Major content additions include the Hunter/Prey Expansion (November 14, 2019), the Core Worlds DLC (September 8, 2021), and a series of substantial patches including the sweeping v3.0 overhaul (February 4, 2021), the v3.1 performance and balance update (September 8, 2021), the significant balance update (May 8, 2025), and the v3.31 patch adding a new map and multiplayer improvements (August 7, 2025). The most recent developer communication was on February 23, 2026, promoting a Steam Next Fest demo for the upcoming sequel, Ashes of the Singularity II — announced in August 2025 for a 2026 release. Stardock continues to actively maintain and update the original game alongside sequel development. No announcement has been made that development or updates for Escalation are ending. All 13 listed DLC packs have been released, but the sustained pattern of patches and updates — as recently as August 2025 — indicates the developer remains actively engaged with the game.
