Evaluation

At Dead Of Night launched on November 19, 2020 as a complete, self-contained horror experience. After launch, the developer actively supported the game with gameplay improvements, controller support, an Extreme difficulty mode, Steam Cloud saves, and a steady stream of language localizations (Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Turkish, Polish, French, Portuguese, and Finnish). The most recent update, published on June 26, 2024, added Portuguese and Finnish language support. Since then, there have been no new posts, announcements, or hints of upcoming content from the developer. The store description does not mention any planned DLC, season pass, or future updates — it is written as a description of a finished game. No DLC is listed on the store. The developer's post-launch activity followed a natural wind-down pattern: heavier early support transitioning to occasional localization additions, with the June 2024 post being the last entry in what appears to be a completed support cycle. The game shipped as a finished product and has received no communication indicating future content development.
Evidence
Portuguese and Finnish language support added — the most recent developer communication, and the last in a long series of localization updates.

Controller support and an Extreme difficulty mode added shortly after launch, suggesting the developer treated this as a finished game being polished rather than a live-service title.

About this game

Maya is a student trapped in a remote hotel run by a psychopath called Jimmy Hall. Jimmy has tied up Maya's friends and locked them in their rooms, with evil intentions. Maya has managed to escape, but Jimmy is on the prowl looking for her. However, to get him to release her friends, Maya must uncover Jimmy's dark secret. Using an ancient ghost voice receiver she finds, Maya must communicate with the ghosts of Jimmy's past, who materialise around the hotel and gradually reveal their story.

AUDIO LATENCY

Because of the way sound is synced to the video in this game, some users may notice some audio latency, affecting lip-sync. This can be improved a lot in Windows 10/11 - not just in this game but lots of games - in Windows 11 by navigating to System > Sound > More sound settings > Speakers or headphones (on the Playback tab) > Properties > Advanced tab, then unticking the ‘Give exclusive mode applications priority' option.
