Axis Football 2019 launched on September 27, 2019. Axis Games operates on an annual release model, shipping a new standalone game each year rather than expanding the previous one indefinitely. Following its launch, the game received several gameplay and bug-fix patches through mid-to-late 2020 (versions 2.1 through 2.7, the last of which shipped on September 22, 2020). Shortly after that final patch, Axis Football 2020 launched on October 7, 2020 as a separate Steam product, effectively superseding the 2019 edition. Axis Football 2021 then launched on August 26, 2021, continuing the annual pattern. There have been no developer communications about Axis Football 2019 since September 22, 2020 — the game has been in maintenance silence for years. Given the annual release model, Axis Football 2019 was effectively completed and succeeded by its sequels. The last content update for this specific edition was version 2.7 on September 22, 2020.
