Backpack Battles reached its full 1.0 release on June 13, 2025, adding two new classes (Mage and Adventurer). Since then, the developer PlayWithFurcifer has maintained a strong and consistent post-launch update cadence. The most significant post-launch addition was the Engineer class, released March 27, 2026 as a free update — adding over 40 new items for the new class plus 35 more for existing classes, bringing the total item count to 517. This was teased as early as September 25, 2025 and formally announced on March 5, 2026 before shipping on schedule. The mobile version (iOS and Android) also launched on February 4, 2026. Beyond these major releases, the developer has shipped a steady stream of feature patches and balance updates. The most recent patch (1.1.9), posted September 15, 2026, added a crossover item from another game and further balance adjustments. The developers closed that post with "see y'all soon," reflecting an ongoing engagement with the game. No specific upcoming content has been announced, but the developer has also made no statement suggesting development is winding down. Given the active, consistent update history — major content drops roughly every 6–9 months since launch, with regular smaller patches in between — the game is clearly in an active post-launch support phase. The patch posted just one day before today's evaluation date confirms the developer remains highly engaged.
