BAD END

BAD END is a short visual novel that launched on November 25, 2015 as a self-contained story with a fixed set of endings and no post-launch content additions. The store description describes a complete narrative experience — a branching short story, a "surprising ending," and gallery/music modes to unlock after completing it. There are no DLC listings, no expansion announcements, and no developer communications indicating any plans to add new story content. The developer has maintained the game consistently over the years, shipping a series of quality-of-life and technical improvements: controller support, renewed background graphics and character art (V5.0.0, April 2, 2021), a full music refresh (V7.0.0, October 23, 2024), full Japanese voice acting added to the entire game (V8.0, June 4, 2025), a UI and resolution overhaul (V8.1, November 17, 2025), and a performance optimization pass as recently as March 29, 2026. These updates improve the presentation of the existing game rather than adding new story content — the game's narrative and structure remain as shipped at launch.
