Bang! Howdy

Bang! Howdy is a free-to-play online multiplayer strategy game that has been receiving consistent updates since its August 2017 launch. The developer operates it as a live service with an in-game currency (gold/coins) that players can purchase through Steam to buy cosmetics and, as the developer has hinted, future towns. The update history reflects sustained, ongoing development. A major update shipped in April 2024 added new units and cards. The April 2025 major update overhauled anti-cheat, added macOS support, and included provisional assets for an upcoming "Boom Town" area still in development. The combination of a free-to-play model with purchasable in-game currency, ongoing cosmetic and content additions, and the developer's explicit framing of monetization as sustaining the game confirms this is a live service product with no end to content development in sight.
