Barro

Barro launched on March 28, 2018 and has received a consistent stream of updates over the years, including two paid DLC releases in 2020. In August 2024, the developer announced Barro 2024 as "the last game in the series" — but this referred to a new standalone game, not to the end of updates for Barro itself. Since that announcement, the developer has continued actively updating Barro. On March 12, 2025, they shipped a brand-new online multiplayer mode (V28.1), explicitly describing it as an initial version still under development with plans for improvement. On April 8, 2025, they followed up with meaningful multiplayer improvements (V30.14) to make online play fairer across different game versions. Most recently, on October 3, 2025, the developer communicated directly with players to confirm a Unity security vulnerability did not affect the game. The developer has never stated that Barro itself is content-complete or that updates will stop. The online multiplayer feature was explicitly described as still being developed as of March 2025, and the October 2025 communication confirms continued developer engagement. The established pattern of sustained updates — feature patches, bug fixes, and major new modes — remains intact. Today's date is October 8, 2026, which is about one year since the last developer communication (October 3, 2025) and about 18 months since the last major feature update (April 8, 2025). The gap since the last major feature update is longer than the previous cadence would suggest, but the developer has not communicated that development has concluded.
