Evaluation

Battle Grid launched into Early Access on June 7, 2023, then reached its 1.0 release on October 25, 2023. Before the 1.0 launch, the developer posted an important update on October 5, 2023 explaining that the game had not generated enough revenue to complete the originally planned roadmap. Several features — including Corporate Contracts, Deck Management, a Compendium, Statistics, and new maps — were explicitly cancelled. The developer committed to completing three remaining updates (controller support, a UI update, and a gameplay update), then promised ongoing bug fixes and balancing after release. All three of those final pre-1.0 updates shipped as promised, and the 1.0 release on October 25, 2023 included the full Gameplay Update. Following launch, the developer issued a small number of bug fix patches, with the last recorded communication being a tutorial soft-lock fix on July 10, 2024. No future content has been announced, no unreleased DLC is listed, and the developer's October 5, 2023 statement made clear that the scope of the game was being locked down due to revenue constraints. The game shipped as a complete, finished product within the boundaries the developer defined at that time.
