Battlesmiths: Blade & Forge arrived on Steam on September 22, 2025, but the game had already been operating for roughly two years before that, as the store description notes ("After two years of forging..."). The Steam release was a platform expansion for an already-running game. The game is structured as a continuously operated online service. Since the Steam launch, Ragnarocket has maintained a very active release cadence: five major content drops, six announcements, and seven feature patches are on record across the 26 posts scanned. Major updates include rotating limited-time seasonal events — Inferno Forge (February 19, 2026), The Hunter's Forge (April 19, 2026), and Black Rose Charms (May 29, 2026) — each with their own mechanics, story scenarios, and exclusive rewards. The ongoing story campaign advanced from Chapter 12 (completed December 29, 2025) through the staged rollout of Chapter 13 (April 1, 2026 and May 13, 2026). The July 20, 2026 post introduced a new monthly Hero Trial system with activity-based progression, tiered rewards including premium currency (Rubies), and purchasable premium subscription tiers. The combination of rotating seasonal events on roughly a monthly cadence, a subscription-based premium rewards structure, ongoing campaign content releases, and an active in-game economy with premium currency all confirm this is a live game designed to be updated indefinitely.
