Bearskull

Bearskull launched on April 13, 2023 and received several updates over its two-year lifespan. A major content update shipped on November 26, 2023, adding new levels, an overworld, weapon upgrades, and a farming arena. Quality-of-life patches followed in August 2023 and January 2024. On September 6, 2024, the developer confirmed they were working on one final major update, outlining planned new levels, a new boss, an arena mode, and a story expansion. On February 17, 2025, they announced that update was entering its final testing phase, targeting a March 2025 release. On April 13, 2025 — Bearskull's 2nd anniversary — the developer shipped that final update, explicitly labeling it the "Final Update." It added a story continuation beyond the Sorkin battle, a reworked three-phase Sorkin boss fight, a new shield mechanic, overworld improvements, UI revamps, a bonus cutscene, new achievements, and performance improvements. Simultaneously, the developer announced Bearskull 2 as a separate game on Steam, making clear that further adventures in this world would continue under a new title rather than through additional updates to Bearskull itself. The developer's own language — "final update," "worthy conclusion," and the pivot to a sequel — confirms that Bearskull's content development is complete as of April 13, 2025. The one released DLC (a supporter pack) contains no unreleased content obligations.
