Betrayal Beach launched on May 6, 2024 and received a steady stream of updates over its first year: a roles update, expanded player support, two paid DLC packs (Island's Curse in September 2024 and The Mountain in December 2024), plus several feature patches adding new roles, rules, and game settings.
When The Mountain DLC shipped on December 14, 2024, the developer explicitly stated: "That all being said, this will be the last major update for Betrayal Beach. (There may be a few more smaller patches with fixes and tweaks though)." This is a clear, direct statement that major content development was complete.
After that announcement, two minor updates followed: a maintenance patch in October 2025 (v1.7.3) updating the Unity engine version for a security fix, and on November 21, 2025 a small update called Island's Revenge (v1.8.0) adding a couple of optional game rules — inspired by a YouTuber collaboration. The developer framed this as an unplanned bonus: "My plan was to be done with updates for this game. However, since I had done the work for the video I figured hey, I might as well just polish it up." This confirms the December 2024 "final update" statement remained the developer's intent, and the November 2025 patch was an informal extra rather than a reversal of that position.
By April 2025, the developer announced a new game project (Explosive Odds) under their new studio Pig Bot Games, further confirming focus has shifted away from Betrayal Beach.
All three listed DLC are released. The store description's "More to come!" line in the features list predates the final update announcement and has been superseded by the developer's explicit statements. The game is complete as of November 21, 2025 — the date of the last (unplanned bonus) content update.

Betrayal Beach is an online social deduction survival game for 4-8 players. Crash landed on a strange island, a group of survivors must work together to survive long enough for rescue to come. However, 1-2 players are working as saboteurs. Blending in with the survivors of the crash, their goal is to make sure none leave the island alive.
