BioGun fully released on July 31, 2024, following an Early Access period. After launch, the developer (Dapper Dog Digital) was actively patching the game and, in November 2024, announced an exciting new chapter — reacquiring full rights to BioGun from their publisher and outlining plans for an alternate ending and console ports via Kickstarter. However, on January 10, 2025, the developer posted a clear and direct statement about the game's future: the game engine (Construct 3) had become too unstable to continue development or even export builds reliably. As a result, version 1.7.0.0 — released the same day — was declared the final update for BioGun "until further notice." The previously planned alternate ending DLC was explicitly set aside. The developer was clear this was not the end of the studio, but it was the end of active BioGun development for the foreseeable future. This was confirmed by a February 28, 2025 post in which the developer formally announced moving on to a new game (TurnBreak), stating that BioGun is now "complete." The developer has since been focused entirely on TurnBreak, including a Kickstarter launch in April 2025 and a playable demo in June 2025. No further BioGun updates have been announced or shipped since January 10, 2025. The only DLC released is the BioGun Soundtrack (February 2025), which is a music pack rather than game content. All planned game content has either shipped or been formally cancelled/shelved. BioGun is a complete, finished product as of January 10, 2025.
