Black Closet

Black Closet launched on September 16, 2015 and received a small wave of post-launch patches and content updates through mid-2016. The most notable post-launch addition was a free content update on October 10, 2015 (version 1.2.23) that added new cases and new student art. Subsequent updates through July 2, 2016 were focused on bug fixes and minor feature tweaks, with the final recorded patch (1.2.39, July 2, 2016) explicitly described as "no new content, just fixing some crashes." There has been no developer communication about Black Closet-specific content since July 2016. The developer (Hanako Games) remains active as a studio — they released a new game, Galaxy Princess Zorana, on November 21, 2025 — but all recent activity is focused on that title and the broader Hanako Games catalog, not Black Closet. In December 2025, the developer announced the retirement of a bundle covering their "pre-Zorana games," further indicating Black Closet is considered a completed, back-catalog title. The game launched as a finished product and received a modest round of post-launch support before development concluded.
