Evaluation
Blacksea Odyssey launched on Steam on June 1, 2016 after a period in Early Access. The game received a series of feature patches and bug fixes through its Early Access period and immediately after launch, with the last known update being version 1.2 on January 18, 2017.
The most important developer communication is a post from October 18, 2016, in which the team announced a partnership with publisher Spiral Summit Games for a console release. Crucially, this post acknowledged that the team had previously said they would no longer be updating Blacksea Odyssey, but clarified that "is no longer the case" — promising a few minor updates (bug fixes, balancing, minor features) leading up to the eventual console release. Version 1.2 in January 2017 appears to be the fulfillment of those promised minor updates.
There are no unreleased DLC entries in the store listing, no roadmap or announcement of named future content, no live service elements, and no developer communication of any kind after January 18, 2017. The 50 news posts scanned contain only one major content release, and the update activity effectively stopped over nine years ago. The developer's own earlier statement (that they "would no longer be updating Blacksea") appears to reflect the game's final state, with the post-publisher updates serving as a brief final maintenance period. The game launched as a complete package with a defined content arc — biomes, bosses, and a final encounter with the Titan of the Stars — and no further additions have been communicated since.
Evidence
Version 1.2 released with minor additions (new rune types, cosmetic items) and bug fixes. This is the last developer communication on record.
Developer confirmed a new publisher partnership (Spiral Summit Games) and noted they had previously said they would stop updating the game. They committed to a few more minor updates (bug fixes, balancing, minor features) ahead of a console release, but described no new major content.
