Evaluation

Blast the Past is a VR wrecking crane game created by a team of seven students as a three-month semester project at h_da university, released on October 3, 2018. After launch, the developers shipped one major content update on May 2, 2019 ("BIG NOW") adding two new destroyable houses, Steam achievements, and leaderboards, followed by a small secrets-additions patch on June 5, 2019. There have been no further content updates since June 2019. The most recent developer communication was an announcement on August 6, 2026 — not about new content, but about a pricing change from free to $1, to unlock additional Steam features like sales and trading cards. The developer also noted the price may return to free later. This post confirms the developer is still reachable but has no content plans to communicate. Given the game's origins as a student semester project, the absence of any post-2019 content updates, and no announcements of planned future content, the game is a complete, self-contained experience. The previous evaluation marked it as delisted, but current data confirms the game is purchasable. The August 2026 pricing announcement itself confirms an active store presence.
