Evaluation

Blobun launched on Steam on March 11, 2025 and received a healthy stream of post-launch updates through the rest of that year. The developer shipped several feature patches (puzzle editor improvements, mod.io integration, input remapping) and fixed various bugs throughout spring and summer 2025. On July 7, 2025, the developer released Blobun Mini — a free standalone pico8 sequel with 60 new puzzles — and later made those puzzles available as a custom content pack for the main game via mod.io. The last notable activity was a v1.1 patch on October 16, 2025 adding input remapping and further optimizations, and a "One Year of Blobun" developer reflection post on March 11, 2026. That anniversary post (tagged as a developer statement about the game's trajectory) reflects on the year since launch and discusses the game's development trajectory, but does not announce any specific new content. The developer's pre-launch "Gold Build" post explicitly framed post-launch updates as conditional on the game's performance, and there are no announcements of upcoming DLC or expansions. The only DLC listed — the Blobun + Cosmogelica OST — has been released. No unreleased DLC exists on the store, and the developer has made no commitments to future content. The most recent developer communication was the anniversary post on March 11, 2026. The game's sustained update activity has wound down naturally — the last patch was in October 2025 — with no further content signaled. Blobun Mini, the closest thing to a major content addition, was a separate free release rather than an expansion to the base game. The game launched as a complete puzzle experience and the developer has delivered on post-launch improvements without committing to further content additions. The content cycle appears complete as of the Blobun Mini release on July 7, 2025.

About this game

The Slime's Curse

Stephanie is an explorer and adventurer. One day, she comes across a magical amulet, which seems to be turning water into slime. Her curiosity gets the best of her and, after touching it, she gets turned into slime too! Now, with the help of her girlfriend Audrey, she must travel across the entirety of Mythandra, searching for a way to free herself of this curse. A witch in a remote forest is rumored to be able to help, but will they find their way there?  Or, will Stephanie get accustomed to her new form?

Solving Puzzles

In Blobun, you'll solve numerous grid-based puzzles across a variety of worlds. The goal is simple: To complete the puzzle, touch every tile! However, you'll find that it's not so simple. Many obstacles will get in your way, from dangerous lasers, to deadly lava. You'll have to keep your wits about you as you move through each puzzle!

Puzzle Elements

Throughout your journey, you'll come across many different puzzle elements that will block your progress. There are floating keys that toggle blocks on the playfield, conveyer belts that push you in a certain direction, cracked floors that break as you move on them and more! You'll have to keep track of what does what and plan out your path accordingly.

State Changes

In some puzzles, you'll find floating tokens that allow you to change your state! Change to the Ice state to be able to skate on water, or the Fire state to move safely across lava. You'll even find a state that makes you stop leaving slime everywhere. How will you touch every tile now?
