Evaluation
Bloodhound: First Day in Hell is a free-to-play horror FPS prologue that launched on March 30, 2023. The game was explicitly designed as an introduction ("First Day in Hell" / "a taste of what's to come") to the broader Bloodhound universe, with the full game — Bloodhound — released separately on Steam on July 19, 2023.
The developer, Kruger & Flint Productions, actively patched this prologue throughout 2023, shipping multiple feature updates and bug fixes between April and October 2023. On December 31, 2023, they posted a development update acknowledging a period of silence caused by health challenges, but confirmed they remained committed to the game.
The most significant signal came on April 15, 2024, when the developer formally announced they had begun work on a continuation of Bloodhound's story — promising expanded mechanics, new enemies and bosses, larger maps, five new weapons, and more narrative content. This is a clear commitment to future content.
However, that April 2024 post is the last known communication from the developer. As of June 21, 2026 — more than two years later — no further updates, patch notes, or progress reports have appeared. The promised continuation has not shipped, and the developer has not provided any explanation for the extended silence. Given the team's previously disclosed health difficulties and the length of the communication gap, it is uncertain whether the announced content is still actively in development.
