Bloodthief launched on September 22, 2025, developed solo by Blargis. On launch day, the developer committed to continued support and specifically called out mapping/modding as the next major feature. That promise was fulfilled on November 6, 2025 with the Steam Workshop and Custom User Maps update, which gave players a full map editor and community sharing tools. Since then, the developer has shipped a steady stream of updates: a bug fix patch in late September 2025, several feature patches through October and November 2025, another feature patch on February 23, 2026 (adding save slots and a full-game run timer), and most recently a patch on June 24, 2026 adding custom texture support for community maps along with map packs. That June 24 post closes with "More stuff to come!" — an explicit signal that the developer considers the game still in active development. The only DLC is the game's soundtrack, which has already been released. No specific future content has been announced by name, but the developer's consistent update cadence and stated intent to keep responding to community feedback indicate the game is still receiving meaningful ongoing development.
