Book Shooter launched its official 1.0 version on August 22, 2025, with 38 magical books, 11 Magic Colleges, and a full set of core systems. Since launch, SOS GameLab has maintained a consistent update cadence. In the first weeks following release, multiple feature and balance patches shipped. On October 17, 2025, a major update introduced the Creative Workshop — a full MOD creation and Steam Workshop integration system — representing the most substantial post-launch addition. Further feature patches followed in January 2026 (new passive spells and bug fixes) and March 26, 2026 (five additional new spells and text fixes). Across the post-launch period, the developer has shipped one named major content update and multiple feature patches adding new spells, passive abilities, difficulty modes, and gameplay systems. The developer has not announced specific future content, nor have they stated that development is complete. The most recent communication was on March 26, 2026 — approximately six months before today's date of September 24, 2026. The established interval between the major content drops and feature patches has ranged from a few weeks to about three months, placing the current six-month silence at or near the outer edge of that pattern. There is no announcement of a winding-down of development, but the silence since March 26, 2026 is notable.
