Evaluation
Boyfriend or Cake?? is a free-to-play visual novel that released on August 5, 2025. The developer has made one post-launch update (January 6, 2026), which added an achievements system and fixed a handful of bugs — the kind of polish update typical after a game ships. There are no DLC listings, no announced future content, no roadmap, and no developer statements pointing to additional story content or expansions. The store description describes the game as a self-contained experience. As a visual novel, it launched as a complete product, and nothing the developer has communicated suggests otherwise.
Evidence
Post-launch patch added an achievements system and fixed several bugs (character intro logic, animation, audio, and visual alignment issues).
Store description presents the game as a complete visual novel experience centered on romance and cake, with no mention of planned updates, DLC, or ongoing content.
