Bughouse

Bughouse is a small, self-contained PS1-style horror game developed by Disrate Studios that launched on July 14, 2022 at a price of $1.99. The store description and developer's own pre-launch communications make clear this was always intended as a short, complete experience — described explicitly as "1 hour of gameplay" with multiple endings and replayability built in as features. The developer's post-launch communication confirms this: after the release announcement on July 15, 2022, the only subsequent posts were a discount promotion on September 1, 2022, and an announcement on September 22, 2022 promoting a separate, newly released game (Vilomah). There were no patch notes, updates, new content announcements, or any communications about Bughouse after that point. The developer's own words before launch — "Lots of mini-horror games and bundles to be released over this year" — framed Bughouse as the first in a series of standalone games, not as a title that would receive ongoing post-launch content. Vilomah appears to be that next standalone release. No DLC was ever listed for Bughouse, and no future content for it has ever been announced or implied. The game launched as a finished, complete product and has remained that way since July 14, 2022.
