Burger Shop launched on December 1, 2017 as a complete, self-contained time-management game. Despite that finished-product launch, GoBit Games has continued to actively maintain and improve it over the years. The developer added multilingual support on March 12, 2021, followed by a DirectX 11 upgrade, touch screen support, and a profile backup system on January 21, 2025, and most recently a new "xxtreme" mode on April 10, 2026 that allows up to 9 simultaneous customers — a feature directly inspired by the game's fan community. The April 10, 2026 post is the last known developer communication. No specific future content has been announced, and the developer has made no statements about concluding development. The intervals between feature updates have ranged from months to over a year, with the most recent gap between the January 2025 and April 2026 updates being approximately 15 months. As of today, October 8, 2026, it has been roughly 6 months since the last update — still within the range of the developer's historical cadence. The pattern of ongoing improvements spanning years to April 2026 indicates the game continues to receive attention.
