CAFE 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~ is a short mystery horror visual novel that launched on January 29, 2015 as a self-contained, finished product. Its store description explicitly outlines a fixed scope: two character paths plus one true path, a secret bonus after clearing all routes, and a 2–3 hour playtime. The only DLC — a Japanese Voice Add-On — was released on the same day as the game itself.
Post-launch activity has been limited to maintenance: Steam Achievements and Cloud Support were added in September 2015, and Mac compatibility patches were issued in October 2019 and January 2024. None of these represent new story content.
Developer activity in more recent years has focused entirely on other titles in the CAFE 0 series. A sequel, CAFE 0 ~The Sleeping Beast~, launched on Steam in November 2016, and a remastered version of that sequel was announced for wishlisting in November 2022. In December 2025, the developer announced a new collaborative project, *Our Burial Dolls Remastered*, due in late January 2026 — further confirming that ROSEVERTE remains an active studio, but is not returning to this original title with new content.
The game launched as a complete, finite visual novel and has received no content expansions in over a decade. All released content has been available since launch day.

STORY
A girl’s spirit with no recollection of her past find herself inside Cafe 0, a mysterious Cafe in the middle of nowhere.
