About this game
LEARN TO TRADE BY TRADING
CandleBook is a trading simulator on a minute clock, built for learning and practising day trading and swing trading with virtual money: forex, stock indices, gold, oil and crypto. One click is one candle. Read a session day by day, or zoom down to 5-minute candles when it matters: the same market, the same orders, the same clock. A month of market in ten minutes, or a single London open minute by minute.
A PRACTICE INSTRUMENT, NOT A TYCOON GAME
- What it is: a simulator for practising the trader's job. Generated markets, a broker's execution rules and costs, 45 lessons and a trading journal that grades your process.
- Not a live-market platform: no broker connection, no price feed, no historical data. It cannot analyse the market you trade tomorrow. It trains the trader who does.
- Not a tycoon or an arcade: no story, no characters, no upgrades to buy. You get a market, virtual capital and a chart that advances one candle at a time. What you build is skill, and the only thing you can spend is your own discipline.
THE PROBLEM WITH PAPER TRADING
Paper trading runs at real speed — a month of practice teaches you a month of market. Historical replay tools cost $100-300 or a subscription, and the second time you replay 2020, you already know what happens. You are not training skill any more. You are training memory.MARKETS YOU CANNOT MEMORIZE
Every session is generated from real market regime structure — accumulation, markup, distribution, markdown — so the candlestick chart in front of you is new, plausible and unrepeatable. Volatility, spread, trading hours, gap behaviour and news flow are modelled per instrument: 18 markets across forex, stock indices, gold, silver, oil, natural gas, copper, wheat and crypto, plus 3 training markets that isolate one skill at a time. You cannot memorise your way out. You have to read the price action in front of you.
FROM THE DAILY CHART DOWN TO 5-MINUTE CANDLES
Every session runs on a minute clock, and six timeframes look at it: 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily and weekly. Read the trend on the daily chart, then time the entry intraday. NEXT CANDLE advances one candle of the view on screen. Or let the clock run at your own pace and jump ahead until something happens: a fill, your price alert, the next scheduled release, the close.
EXECUTION THAT RESPECTS YOU ENOUGH TO HURT
The chart shows the bid, as on a broker's platform: you buy at the ask and sell at the bid. Every session is a margin account, with each market's own leverage: 1:30 in forex, 1:20 in indices and gold, 1:10 in other commodities, 1:2 in crypto. Stops fill inside the minute they are hit, with slippage that grows with size, in thin hours and around a release. Gaps fill at the reopening, past your stop, the way they do in life. Hold through the daily close and the swap is charged, or paid, by market and side. Let equity fall to half the margin in use and the stop-out will find you. Build a habit here and it survives contact with a real broker.
REAL TRADING HOURS AND AN ECONOMIC CALENDAR
Each market keeps its hours on the broker's server clock: the London and New York sessions for forex, the cash session for stock indices, the daily break of indices and commodities. Scheduled events land at their real time — US data at 15:30, the Fed at 21:00 and its press conference half an hour later, the ECB, the Bank of England, oil inventories — and every headline appears when the clock reaches it. Over 35,000 written headlines, and some of them are there to mislead you, because real markets do that too.EVERY SESSION OPENS WITH A MANDATE
A morning briefing sets the two numbers that matter: a return target and a risk budget, the maximum drawdown the session allows. Return only counts inside the budget. Choose the length of the mandate:- Sprint, 7 days: a week of day trading on the intraday charts. The desk closes every evening and everything still open is closed at the market.
- Quick, 30 days: a month of swing trading or day trading, in one sitting.
- Medium, 180 days and Long, 365 days: position trading through whole market regimes.
A SCHOOL THAT PLAYS FAIR
45 lessons taught on the live desk — not videos, not a wiki. Candlestick reading, technical analysis with the indicators, news filtering, position sizing, stop placement, R-multiples, drawdown control and risk management, plus character-of-market lessons that only make sense with a chart moving in front of you. Exams run with the help switched off.
A REPORT THAT GRADES HOW, NOT ONLY HOW MUCH
When a session ends, the report grades the process and not just the profit: return against the target, drawdown against the budget, a stop on every trade, sizing, and what the market did after you left. It shows where the day paid you, hour by hour, which stops the noise inside the candle took, what holding overnight cost, and which headlines you actually decided on.
A TRADING JOURNAL THAT KNOWS YOU
Every closed trade builds your trading journal: expectancy, profit factor, win rate against payoff, R-multiples, maximum drawdown — and your nine recurring leaks, detected, named and priced in dollars, from cutting winners and revenge trading to fighting the trend and trading the thin hours. Tag your setups and the playbook tells you which of your ideas actually pays. Print the report, or take the whole journal out as CSV.
THE SAME SESSION FOR EVERYONE
Every session has a seed. Copy it from the report and anyone who pastes it plays exactly the same session: the same market, the same candles, the same headlines at the same minute. It is how a teacher hands the same exam to a class, or how two friends compare decisions on the same chart.ONE PURCHASE. YOURS.
A complete trading simulator for a single price. No subscription. No account. No data feed to configure. Runs offline, start to finish. Sessions of 7, 30, 180 or 365 simulated days, 35 achievements and four leaderboards if you want the scoreboard — and nothing that needs the internet if you don't.THE MARKETS
Indices: USA 500 · US Tech 100 · Germany 40 · Japan 225Forex: EUR/USD · GBP/USD · USD/JPY · AUD/USD · USD/MXN
Metals: Gold · Silver · Copper
Energy: Crude Oil WTI · Natural Gas

Crypto: Bitcoin · Ethereum · Solana

Each carries its own volatility, spread, trading hours, leverage, gap behaviour, news categories and market arcs. Gold does not move like Bitcoin, and here it doesn't pretend to.
THE DESK
- Orders: market, limit and stop entries, TP1/TP2 brackets, trailing stops by percent or ATR, partial closes, break-even moves
- Sizing: size by risk percentage or by amount, with the stop distance doing the arithmetic for you
- Stop loss and take profit in market units: set them in percent or in ATR, scaled to the timeframe you trade, because 2% is a scratch on EUR/USD and a whole day on Bitcoin
- Timeframes: 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily and weekly views of the same session, with indicators recomputed on each
- The clock: NEXT CANDLE for one candle of the view on screen, or let the clock run at your pace and jump ahead until something happens
- Margin account: balance, equity, margin in use and free margin, each market with its own leverage, and a stop-out at half the margin
- Indicators: fast and slow EMA, Bollinger Bands, RSI, MACD, ATR, VWAP anchored to the session, volume and candlestick pattern detection — every period configurable
- Drawing tools: trendlines, support and resistance levels, zones, a measuring tool, and armed price alerts that stop the clock in the minute they fire
- News: over 35,000 written headlines, modelled per market by category — central banks, earnings, macro data, geopolitics, sentiment — each with its time, plus a calendar of scheduled events with the warning the day before and the reading after

WHAT THIS IS NOT
Not financial advice: the markets are synthetic and the results are simulated. Nothing here predicts a real market. Not a broker: no real money, ever. Not a promise of profit — distrust any tool that makes one. What is trainable is process, and that is what this trains.IMPORTANT
The markets are synthetic. They are generated, not historical data. Results are simulated and do not predict the behaviour of real markets. This is not financial advice and this is not a broker. No real money moves at any point. All capital in the simulator is virtual, carries no value, and cannot be bought, sold, redeemed or withdrawn. No evaluation yet
