Evaluation

Captain Firehawk and the Laser Love Situation launched on February 9, 2024, and Portland Caviar has been continuously updating it since. The game received two major content updates — Service Pack 1.4 on July 29, 2024 (which added the artbook DLC, new languages, and significant bug fixes) and Version 1.8.1 on October 12, 2024 (described by the developer as representing six months of hard work, adding new game systems, a gallery mode, new enemy mechanics, and more). Beyond those major updates, the developer has shipped multiple feature patches adding new modes like a streaming-friendly censored mode (November 2024) and improved controller support (February 2025 and May 2026), as well as regular bug fix updates. Notably, the developer has made direct statements about their commitment to the game. On July 2, 2025, they wrote "We're still hard at work on Captain Firehawk... We're fully committed and won't give up on it!" and on October 25, 2025, they stated "We're continuing to improve Captain Firehawk... and we want to reaffirm our commitment to our amazing community." The most recent update of any kind was posted on May 24, 2026, confirming the developer remains actively engaged. No specific unshipped content has been announced, but the developer has not indicated the game is complete or that development is winding down. The pattern of regular updates — with no gaps exceeding the established cadence — combined with explicit developer statements of ongoing commitment indicates this game continues to receive substantial post-launch support.

About this game

A shooter where your bullets strip off clothing pieces from giant, skyscraper-sized women! Inspired by many classics from the golden age of arcades, Captain Firehawk pays respect to the Shoot 'Em Up genre, putting a comedic and raunchy twist on the classic formula.

When enormous, size-morphing vixens begin attacking planets throughout the galaxy, only one team can stand against these formidable foes and set things right: Emmy the engineer, Dr. Unit, the cinematographer robot, and Captain Firehawk, a pizza guy with a pilot's license. They must rely on their wits, quick reflexes and - of course - Firehawk's legendary retro gaming skills!

  • Retro Love Letter: PC-98-inspired graphics paired with 21st-century sensibilities!

  • Hot Anime Ladies: Meet and befriend a colorful cast of sexy gals!

  • Nudity & Clothing Destruction: Shoot 'em up to strip them down!

  • Giantesses Gallery: When you beat a level, a giantess will be able to be observed on their stage with pan, zoom and clothing controls.

  • Dr. Unit's Private Gallery: A gallery showcasing how each giantess was captured!

By reaching 100% progress in each stage, a special animation will be unlocked. Progress is based on the amount of money raised, which is cumulative, so with skill, you can unlock new content in just a few tries - or even on your first!

  • Streaming-friendly censored mode

  • 15 Cards and 32 achievements

Featuring visual novel story segments with animated character sprites, seamlessly blends story and gameplay to deliver the ultimate analog arcade experience for the modern era!
