Evaluation
Car Manufacture launched into Early Access on August 1, 2024 and has been under continuous — if sometimes interrupted — development since. The developer shipped a series of feature updates through late 2024 and early 2025, including a new Driver worker type, an Assembly Line UI overhaul, in-factory Market objects, and a major robot system overhaul with durability mechanics. A January 2025 update announced further planned systems including maps, factions, and quests.
Development then went quiet for an extended period. On June 16, 2026, the developer returned with an explicit explanation: a long illness had caused the silence. That post shipped alongside Update 1.0.8c, which added two large new factory maps (Rachel and Midway) and substantial worker performance improvements. The developer committed to regular monthly updates going forward.
On September 29, 2026 — just three days before today's assessment — the developer published a detailed update describing a major upcoming system: a hexagonal city map with quests, racing events, rival factories, faction competition, and market-share mechanics. The developer stated they aim to begin testing this system before Christmas 2026. This is a concrete announcement of substantial unshipped content that is actively being built.
The game remains in Early Access, and no statement has been made about when a full 1.0 release is expected.

About this game

CAR MANUFACTURE
Car Manufacture is a game about building and managing a car factory in the early 20th century. With nothing but a few thousand dollars, you will have the opportunity to build and develop your own factory, designing every aspect of its operation. Start by constructing buildings and organizing the first production line. Hire employees and train them to ensure their skill levels are high. Plan the optimal production process and start making money. You will need it to develop technology and research each of the sixty car models available in the game. Carefully build your brand’s reputation and become a master of promotion and sales, where popularity plays a key role. Always stay one step ahead of the competition.Features
- Create a unique car factory in seven different cities.
- Build and optimize assembly lines for effective production.
- Manage and train several types of stats-driven employees.
- Promote products and set prices strategically.
- Improve your factory by unlocking new objects and machines.
- Explore innovative technologies and research new car models.
- Increase your factory’s popularity to draw more clients.
- Take part in the challenges to test your knowledge and practical skills.

The beginning of the 20th century brought new opportunities. Demonstrate the qualities of an excellent leader as you become the head of the car factory. Choose one of the seven available cities. The future of the automotive industry is in your hands.
Discover the capabilities of the production line that revolutionized automotive history by reducing production costs and speeding up car assembly. Start with individual stations, then group them together and divide tasks accordingly. Learn how to optimize the entire process and ensure a regular supply of parts. And yes, there are robots available. Who knows, maybe in the future you will become a completely independent plant that produces even the smallest screw.
The Research department is essential in the factory for discovering new car projects. Currently, the game features nearly 60 different vehicles. Discovering each new project will require increasing amounts of experience and time. Acquire new technologies to build advanced devices that support and accelerate the work of scientists.

Behind every car you create are people, with varying levels of experience. It is your responsibility to ensure the factory operates at full capacity. Manage and train your employees, assigning tasks according to their skills. Keep them satisfied and well-rested to ensure efficient work. However, remember that well-trained employees demand higher wages.
Each vehicle has its life cycle, during which popularity rises and customers are willing to spend more. Learn when to run promotions, lower the price, or discontinue the production of a particular model. Overall trends and the brand quality of the manufactured cars influence popularity. Take care of it, as it directly impacts sales and the success of the factory.

Experiment with game mechanics. Some of them require multiple attempts to work optimally. Your factory can be a highly complex system, but simply observing it can be a very relaxing experience. As you gain experience, you can take on various challenges and test your skills in short missions. Some are tricky and require creativity to earn a large number of stars.
